Croton-on-Hudson Farmers Market this Sunday, 7/6

July 6, 2014

Hi everyone – Happy July 4th weekend! It’s Nicole from Down to Earth Markets. Thank you for coming out all season long to enjoy the Croton-on-Hudson Farmers Market. The market is going really well – thank you for making it possible.

This Sunday, July 6th, the market will be OPEN during its usual hours, 9 am to 2 pm. And guess what: We’ll have BEER. #Freedom Craft Brewery, the vendor that the community supported whole-heartedly on Father’s Day, will be back at the market.

Also Wrights Farm wrote in this week to say that they’ll bring their famous strawberries, cherries, raspberries, and more. This is in addition to the market’s fresh fish, pickles, prepared foods to go from Pika’s Farm Table, French-style breads from Wave Hill Breads, and much more. The summer harvest is in full swing and that means sugar snap peas, an array of greens, radishes, carrots, and the aforementioned berrypalooza — just to name some of it.

One last note: Last week I got some sugar snap peas at one of our markets, and then searched for something to do with them. I found this recipe from Ina Garten. Very easy to make and delicious. It was one of those simple recipes that got big reviews, so I recommend it! haha

May everyone have a great holiday. Cheers, Nicole
