Work Session of the Village Board

7: 30 p.m.

(Open to Public  –  Not Televised)

  1. Discussion with Chazen Representatives regarding options for corrosion control as mandated by the Westchester County Department of Health.  In July, the Village Board asked that Chazen Company explore various options for corrosion control and update their 2007 report to include more recent data.  The report from Chazen has been received and they are making a new recommendation for an anti-corrosive additive other than zinc orthophosphate (ZOP) , known as Carus 8600.  The Dept. of Health has required the village to design, implement and test a corrosion control system at the Village’s well field as result of Copper exceedances.  The Board will be discussing the recommendation with the consultants.
  2. BFJ Planning – Updating Village Zoning regarding Customary Home Occupations. BFJ has been meeting with the Comprehensive Plan Committee to develop recommendations covering Customary Home Occupations.  The 2003 Comprehensive Plan called on this area of the code to be updated to reflect changes in how people work from their homes.  After extensive discussion with the committee, BFJ representatives will discuss their recommendations to the Board.  The goal is to  help existing home occupations to be legal, stream line enforcement and minimize potential adverse off-site impacts.   The proposed changes would eliminate the need for a special permit from the Village Board.
  3. Recommendations from the Croton Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee regarding a Riverwalk Connection along Eliot Way between Senasqua Park and the Croton Yacht Club.  The BPC has toured the area and discussed potential improvements with the Village Engineer as well as others with expertise.  They are proposing a 3-phase project that would be done over time to improve the access from south (Elliot Way) to the north of the Yacht Club area.
