Work Session of the Village Board

7: 30 p.m.

(Open to Public  –  Not Televised)

  • Discussion regarding proposed pedestrian path for Elliott Way.  Site Design Consultants have provided a report on the proposed improvement and widening of Elliott Way from Senasqua Park to the Croton Yacht Club.  Due to the narrowness of this section of the road which is bordered by both the rail road tracks and the Hudson River and which is heavily trafficked, the Board had previously asked for a solution to make this area safer.  The overall length of road to be improved is approximately 775 feet. It will also include extension of a water main, drainage and road improvements in addition to the widening of the road.  The estimated cost of this improvement can vary between $877,000 and $1,106,000 depending on the options chosen.
  • Discussion regarding draft Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM) and Flood Insurance Study report for Croton-on-Hudson.  FEMA has updated its flood hazard information on communities in Westchester County and has provided their preliminary report for review and comment.  In the future FEMA will also schedule a formal community coordination meeting to discuss this information and answer questions.    To view the updated FEMA information go to ftp://croton.wsg.net/FEMA/
  • Discussion regarding the proposal from Blue Green Group, LLC for an update to the Village’s 2009 Greenhouse Gas Baseline Inventory of key Village facilities.  The proposal would provide a benchmark of energy consumption, emissions and operating costs of  five Village facilities as well as the Water Department operations.  The five facilities to be benchmarked are the Municipal Building, DPW garage, Harmon firehouse, Washing Engine firehouse and Grand Street firehouse.  The information will be essential in making future decision regarding buildings and upgrades/renovations. The fee for the above is $7,000 with the option of adding some additional Village-owned facilities for additional fee.
  • Discussion of the hiring of a part-time code enforcement officer and utilizing funds from contingency.  Staff recommendations on the proposed addition will be discussed.
  • Discussion regarding potential procedural changes to Village Board Meetings and Work Sessions. Consideration of alternatives for location and format of both work sessions and regular meetings will be discussed by the Trustees.

I’m guessing this is the agenda for Jan. 12, not Jan. 10 as posted?
