CROTON STUDENT CHOSEN TO ATTEND LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS STUDENTS INSIDE ALBANY PROGRAM

The League of Women Voters of the Rivertowns is very pleased to be sending two students this year to the Students Inside Albany program hosted by the New York State League Education Foundation. The program is designed to increase student awareness of their responsibility in representative government and provide the tools necessary for meeting that responsibility. This year’s session runs from May 17 to May 20.

Ijangmarie Abam-DePass, age 17, is a Junior at Croton-Harmon High School, where she sits on the teen leadership council, is a member of the orchestra, and belongs to the World of Money Financial Institute. She has also been active in her community at the God Squad sleepout to advocate for the homeless.

Jonathan Epstein, age 16, is a junior at Ardsley High School, where he is on the varsity tennis team, Spanish Club, Academic Challenge, and the model U.N. Jonathan is an active member of Innovation Africa, which raised money to provide solar power to sub-Saharan Africa; he is also a certified lifeguard.
