Work Session of the Village Board

7: 30 p.m.

 (Open to Public and Televised)

  1.  Review of the Village’s proposed Social Media Policy.  The Village is attempting to formulate a set of rules for utilizing social media and email blasts to provide information about the Village and as a way to let non-profits and other organizations advertise their events.  The Board will discuss the proposed set of rules.
  2. Village Manager to provide an update regarding the Croton Point Ave project.   The NYS Dept. of Transportation (DOT) has offered to provide an additional $250,000 to the Croton Point Avenue Improvement project if the Village agrees to move forward on the project and to complete it in 2018.  The Village currently has a $1.2 million federal grant for the project which is administered through the DOT  The DOT also agreed in February to allow the project to be phased in two parts with Part 1 primarily addressing the improvements on the north side of Croton Point Avenue and the south bound exit ramp from Route 9.
  3. Discussion on the repointing of brick on the dummy light.   The “dummy light” is the  traffic lot in the center of the intersection of Grand Street and Old Post road South in the Upper Village area.  The light is one of very few such traffic lights remaining in New York State.  Its base and brick planter are in need of repair.  The base and planter are not part of the original structure but have been in place for decades.  A proposal from F & D Contracting, Inc. of Cortlandt Manor has been received for a cost of $3,000 of which they would donate half the cost, for a final cost of $1,500.
