Next Croton-on-Hudson Farmers Market: July 2nd

spring to summer
Say goodbye to spring crops, summer’s here!
What To Look For
This week our farmers are reporting that they’re reaching the end of their spring crops. As we officially start the summer season, you will notice items like asparagus and strawberries leaving the market as summer crops start to fill the farm stands. If you’ve been planning to make strawberry shortcake or want to try our red, white and blue fruit salad recipe (link on the right), this is the week! Next up, look for cherries, blueberries, cucumbers and tomatoes. The word from the orchards is that peaches and apples are coming along nicely too!
NEW & SPECIAL:
Pinebrook Coffee Roasters will have Columbian decaf by the cup & by the bean along with their regular Columbian and Peru roasts. They’ll also have Tanzanian Peaberry cold brew and beans from around the world.
What We’re Thinking About
The DTE Guide to Picnic Success

A lot of us associate this time of year with BBQ and grilling but nothing beats the retro charms of a picnic. It’s like a meal and mini-vacation all in one. Pack a hamper, a Frisbee, a bathing suit and the dog and head outside for a few hours of pure playtime – no coal briquettes or basting brush required. Via the link, our expert guide to planning a picnic.    MORE
