Aqueduct Talk By Cornelia Cotton
Croton Aqueduct
Three weeks ago we let you know about the exhibit of nineteenth-century prints tracing the route of the Old Croton Aqueduct currently on display in the main reading room of the Croton Free Library, 171 Cleveland Drive, Croton-on-Hudson. The Old Croton Aqueduct finished in 1848, is one of the major civil engineering marvels of the nineteenth century. Without the water of the Croton River, New York City could not have developed and grown into America’s largest city. The exhibit will be on view until September 7. The prints are from the collection of Cornelia Cotton.
We wanted to give you this update: Cornelia Cotton will speak in the Gallery at the Library on Friday, August 11, from 5 – 6 p.m. about the exhibit. Don’t miss!
