Croton resident and internationally renowned photo instructor Rick Sammon will lead guided photo walks at the Jane E. Lytle Memorial Arboretum in Croton (on Lounsbury Road) on October 14 at 9 am and October 15 at 10:30 am. The events will help raise funds to complete work on our handicap-accessible boardwalk.

During each 1-hour session, Rick will share his tips for finding interesting subjects and capturing high-quality images. Photo instruction will focus on three natural elements found in the Arboretum: leaves, roots, and rocks. All levels of photographers, from serious amateurs to smartphone shooters, will benefit from this small group educational experience. In addition to on-site instruction, participants will get a link to Rick’s online class, “Master the Art and Craft of Landscape Photography.”

Classes are limited to 12 participants per group. Cost for each guided walk, which includes access to the online class, is $25 per person. Advance registration is required. Registration forms are available on the Arboretum’s website www.crotonarboretum.org. Questions? Call the Arboretum at 914-487-3830.  CLICK HERE for Rick’s extensive website.

Also, Ilse Schreiber-Noll‘s exhibit (of her woodcuts, paintings, and books) on the Langston Hughes poem, “Let America be America Again,” continues at the Croton Free Library throughOctober 30.
